Happy Birthday to…ME!

As a new year dawns upon me…I count my blessings…reflect on my past…and look forward to what lies ahead. I’ve endured some unpleasant experiences in my recent past, but they are blessings since they’ve contributed to my personal growth. I’ve learned the “what not to do’s” and how to be a more productive self. I’ve learned that any type of dependency on a certain thing or person can create attachments and while these can be enjoyable, they can also be crippling if you are ever left without them. Even though I have come to understand that these attachments are illusions and we really are all alone in this life…there are moments where I yearn things in which I find comfort. But as I sing in the “Sunshine” track, “I make a choice…and I get my dose…then I go back to doing what I love most….” it’s my way of saying…I may choose to indulge every now and  then, but I’ll never allow these illusional attachments to stand in the way of my dreams…my goals…and fulfilling my purpose.

So that being said…with this epiphany and as I feel a high from the beautiful sunshine everything just feels so nice and oh so right…I’m ready to take on my new year…….

We work just as hard if not harder, we’re pursuing the same paths, yet, people fail to acknowledge us equally. Our community questions why inequality exists…but understand it’s because ALL people (men and womyn) still do not support womyn as they do men. This is WHY womyn remain disempowered. Unfortunately because of this not every womyn openly speaks about how they feel or has the will to rise above it…but I do among others…so hopefully this begins to be heard and understood. A new movement is emerging of strong females paving new ways and I hope things will change…I hope.

Humble The Poet, you are a lyrical genius, thank you for bullying yourself on this project, contributing ideas and being truth.
